Valley Alarms Ltd is currently seeking a qualified Security Alarm Technician with strong technical skills in Security, CCTV, Access Control, and other security related areas. The Security Alarm Technician will be responsible for the installation of commercial & residential security alarms, card access and CCTV systems (IP & Analog) as scheduled by our Senior Security Alarm Technician. The Security Alarm Technician will also provide service to customers as well as assisting in the instruction of operational procedures and care of equipment.

Valley Alarms Ltd is currently seeking a qualified Security Alarm Technician with strong technical skills in Security, CCTV, Access Control, and other security related areas. The Security Alarm Technician will be responsible for the installation of commercial & residential security alarms, card access and CCTV systems (IP & Analog) as scheduled by our Senior Security Alarm Technician. The Security Alarm Technician will also provide service to customers as well as assisting in the instruction of operational procedures and care of equipment.
Accountabilities:
- Providing superior customer service through consistent follow up & timely responses to customer inquiries
- Travelling to client sites
- Always focusing on solutions that will best meet the needs of location & client
- Perform installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities related to security alarm systems (hard wired & wireless), CCTV system, IP networked camera systems, card access systems, among other areas.
- Read & interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, and operational/product manuals.
- Answer questions and handle both internal and external customer issues in a timely manner.
- Install security equipment to meet with customer specifications.
- Provide consistently high levels of customer service.
- Perform other duties as directed by Management or the Senior Alarm Technician.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required
- Preference will be given to those with a college diploma in Security Systems, Electrical - Construction & Industrial, Electrical Technician, Electronic Engineering Technician
- Previous experience with security system installations and service is considered an asset
- Possess a solid working knowledge of design, installation and functionality of residential and commercial burglar alarms, fire detection systems, access control, CCTV
- Strong comprehension of structural layouts to determine security system installation plans
- Self motivated, highly organized and able to thrive under pressure
- Clean Driver's abstract
- Ability to pass criminal background check
- Willingness to travel 90% of the time
- WHMIS, Ladder Training, Confined Space Training considered an asset
- Supervisory or Managerial experience considered an asset
- Periodically be on call after hours to respond to telephone calls or emergency call outs as required
- Physical ability to lift alarm equipment and ladders
- Work at heights (specifically on ladders - from step ladders and above)
- Travel to the work office, and off-site locations will be required
- Safety equipment required, to be supplied by employer
- Overtime as required
- Hazards associated with the trade
- Work both indoors and outdoors
- Will be exposed to construction/manufacturing sites
- Hours of work, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm
